KDP's 70% eBook Royalty Band Just Got Bigger, Here's What Changed
Starting July 7, 2026, Amazon expanded the price ceiling for the 70% royalty option on Kindle eBooks, the maximum list price jumped from $9.99 to $12.99, with equivalent changes across all KDP marketplaces.
What this actually means: if your eBook is priced between $2.99 and $12.99, you're now eligible for the 70% royalty option, a real jump from the old $9.99 cutoff. If you were stuck on the 35% option because your book was priced above the old ceiling, you may now qualify to switch.
Nothing changes automatically. Amazon isn't touching your existing price or royalty option, this only matters if you actively choose to update something. The 35% royalty tier itself is unchanged, delivery costs still apply as before, and translated editions linked to your original eBook inherit these updates automatically.
