KDP Is Ending EUR Check Payments in August 2026, Here's What to Do

Starting August 2026, Amazon's banking partner will no longer support check payments in EUR currency, this affects authors paid through Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.it, Amazon.nl, Amazon.de, Amazon.ie, and Amazon.be.

The deadline that actually matters: if you receive EUR royalties by check and haven't switched to Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) by July 13, 2026, your August payment defaults to a USD check instead, converted at an Amazon-determined exchange rate, inclusive of conversion fees.

What that conversion means in practice: the $100 USD minimum payment threshold applies to the converted amount, and while your Royalties Report keeps showing the original EUR figures, your Payments dashboard reflects the converted USD amount.

Why switching to EFT is worth doing regardless of the deadline: faster delivery than a physical check, lower minimum payment thresholds, and where EFT is available in your sale currency, payments arrive directly with no conversion at all.
